Expertise
Over the past two decades I’ve had the opportunity to learn the end-to-end value chain of a modern universal bank, from customer-facing operations to back-end technologies and anything in between. From all my experience three skills emerge as my unique super-powers: leadership, transformation, and turnarounds.
Leadership
I’ve been a leader all my life. I was the captain of my ice hockey team, within one year in banking I become a team leader and never looked back. I’ve loved every second. Helping others grow, learn and reach their potential has been the most rewarding thing in my career. I’ve led hundrets of people and everyone of them has been unique and special, and thought me something.
Transformation
Another thing that has always attracted me is transformation. Making things better. I’ve had the privilege of leading multiple large scale transformations in various different roles. I find the intensity of such endeavours extremely stimulating and have managed to stay calm with my former mentor’s advice: you will either succeed or you will learn.
Turnarounds
Sometimes things go sideways, and at worst, even a crisis can emerge. Intuitively, this is not the place you want to be but weirdly, I’ve found that I actually thrive in these situations. You need to act fast, make quick decisions, and operate under massive uncertainty. In the eye of the storm life is not fun, but the learnings and successes afterwards make it all worth it.
