Do your job!

The six time Super Bowl champion coach, Bill Belichick, had a simple mantra: Do your job! That is what made the greatest football dynasty of all time, and what I believe makes a winning organisation.

I’ve always drawn a lot of inspiration from the greatest athletes: Tom Brady, LeBron James, Roger Federer, and Serena Williams, to name a few. Business leaders can learn much from them in terms of discipline, preparation, and commitment. For a professional athlete, the work never stops: after practice or a game comes recovery, and before you know it, it’s time to prepare for the next event. Reaching the top requires maximum effort and performance—both physical and mental—all year round. In business, the focus is often only on the mental side, even though physical well-being is equally important. I’ve always stressed the importance of holistic fitness for business leaders, as it elevates both performance and happiness—and sets a powerful example for their people.

Who am I?

I am a leader, banker and business advisor. I’ve spent more than 20 years in Nordic banking and management consulting, and have done almost everything imaginable in banking: sales, customer service, strategy, transformations, operations, technology, risk management, legal, public affairs, and supplier management. But most of all, I’ve had the privilege of being a leader. I am truly passionate about leadership. It’s a an enormous responsibility, but also the ultimate position of trust. I’m also a firm believer in life-long learning and self-improvement. And in case you didn’t get it from above: I’m a huge (American) football fan!
